This is just a crop of a large panoramic image (which is available here).
I’ve been meaning to process this one for a while, but my old PC wouldn’t have been able to handle it. The new iMac has outdone itself with this post-processing behemoth. 7 Raw images converted to 21 TIFFs (each 23MB in size), merged into 7 HDR TIFFS, combined into a panorama (by hand…).
Not sure about the black/white conversion though – I’d be interested to hear comments

Hi Steve
Thanks for your comments. As far as what equipment goes, I have updated my About page – it’s all in there.
This photo was a bit of an effort to post-process as it is not only a panorama of 7 individual exposures, but I also applied HDR imaging to them.
If you don’t know what HDR is, check out this guide
Once I had produced the 7 HDR images, I stitched them together in Photoshop, which is a laborious task to get exactly right. You can buy programs to do it for you (and PS can as well), but I don’t think they do a good a job as doing it yourself.
Then I cropped and rotated the image. The conversion to black and white was done using this excellent action for Photoshop
